Welcome to all our well wishers of Better Life social service projects. Our aim and dedication are to encourage to the most marginalized and futureless communities as well as farmers of Nepal. Our organization covers women's sustenance capability, children education acquiring program, security for early childhood balance diets program, welfare for orphanages, teaching English in schools and monasteries, health care services, constructing a platform for education and other activities, securing children rights and acquisition of well education, agricultural development program along with irrigation options providing i.e. generators, agricultural tools and more.
Our Mission
Our mission is to upgrade the life style of marginalized, helpless and futureless people of our backward communities focusing on women and children rights, through enhancing educational program, community training and agricultural program for introducing the chances of equality, economic well-being for fulfilling minimum requirement of life and sheltering basic human rights.
About Better Life
Better Life is a non-religious, non-political, non-profitable, non-governmental organization (NGO), which is founded in 2011 by a diverse group drawn from development workers, educationalists, social activists and other professionals. Better Life is officially registered under the Society Act with the District Administration Office Kathmandu (Reg. No. 723), and is affiliated with the Social Welfare Council Nepal (SWC) (Affiliation No. 34389). Better Life Social Organization focuses on community-based projects involving local volunteers backed up by international volunteers in Nepal.
Objectives
Better Life aims to furnish to those people's surviving rights with the right and responsibilities tools and acquiring with knowledge to help them through. The focus is on helping women and children through special educational programs and community training projects as well as to farmers providing easy access to grow crops by developed agricultural technology to conduct them independently their skills. Better Life has adopted an integrated community development approach through voluntary services and donation program as well as extending valuable suggestions and advices by welcoming international and local volunteers and donors.
Specific objectives include:
· To make women self-reliant through a number of initiatives including literacy classes; income generation opportunities; savings and credits groups and raising awareness on health, sanitation and the environment along with doing house hold works.
· To support and provide facilities for early childhood development, encouraging a good and basic foundation for young children along with the beginning of their education.
· To provide a platform for children to participate in non-formal creative activities, as well as developing their skills and making them aware for their basic rights, through establishing Children's Clubs and giving through school's education.
· To help children who have suffered much as a result of the conflict to regain access to education.
· To offer sponsored education to disadvantageous children like orphans, conflict victim children and children from very poor and low income families.
· To provide knowledge of English to youths with English language classes; a youth club forum in which to enhance their social and professional skills and with the opportunity to volunteer within their local community.
· To raise awareness thinking of the need for English language skills and to facilitate teaching English in schools, Buddhist monasteries and nunneries.
· To ensure the quality education providing through conducting teacher's training, workshops, seminars and exchange visits.
· To seek resources and healthcare professionals to assist the health post to serve the local community.
· To centralize idea to be aware about the benefits of good sanitation and providing education in school for maintaining personal hygiene.
· To establish supporting a Community Learning Center (CLC) to provide learning platforms for eliminating illiteracy and for developing the professional capacity of local people.
· To support orphanages through offering financial assistance for education, food and clothing through the placement of volunteers for proper using and aggravating with learning environment.
· To introduce to the international volunteers about the richness of Nepalese culture and for ensuring a safe and memorable stay in a supportive environment in the period.
· To provide safe, affordable and structured volunteer work to support with refreshing to gap years to make a trend of professionalism.
